About ScaleMonkey

My name is Karsten Möbius, I come from Ulm in Germany and I am a passionate hobby model builder. I have been running ScaleMonkey, a platform for model building fans, since 2014.
I have been involved in model building since my childhood – from small glider models to US quarter-scale car models. I was particularly fascinated by the opportunity to realize my ideas in construction and mechanics. One particular highlight was assembling a 1:4 scale Cobra 427 V8 combustion engine kit from Gary Conley in the USA.
Unfortunately, the 1:4 scale has not caught on in car model making and is slowly disappearing from the scene. That is why we are concentrating on the popular 1:5 and 1:6 scales. Our expertise lies primarily in the detailed reproduction of the era of large combustion engines. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing processes, we give our models a special appeal. Each model is created as a unique specimen with a great deal of passion and dedication.
Through our long-standing relationships with other model builders worldwide, we always strive for the highest quality and perfection. ScaleMonkey was created to help with tricky questions about model building – whether it’s about components, design or building challenges.
