About ScaleMonkey

My name is Karsten, I come from Ulm in Germany and I am a passionate hobby model builder. Since 2014 I have been running ScaleMonkeya platform for model building fans.
I have been involved in model building since I was a child – from small glider models to US quarter-scale car models. I was particularly fascinated by the opportunity to implement my ideas in design and mechanics. A special highlight was the assembly of a 1:4 scale Cobra 427 V8 combustion engine kit by Gary Conley from the USA.
Unfortunately, the 1:4 scale has not caught on in car model making and is slowly disappearing from the scene. We will therefore now concentrate on the common 1:5 and 1:6 scales. Our expertise lies above all in detailed models from the era of large combustion engines. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing processes, we give our models a special appeal. Each model is created as a unique piece with a lot of passion and dedication.
Through our long-standing relationships with other model builders worldwide, we always strive for the highest quality and perfection. ScaleMonkey was created to help with tricky questions around model building – be it regarding components, design or challenges during construction.
