The tool for your hobby

Anyone who enjoys spending many hours building models will quickly realize how important high-quality tools can be. Inexpensive or outdated tools may be sufficient to start with and for minor repairs, but if you really love your hobby, you will sooner or later get to know and appreciate the right tools.
We would like to explain some important aspects of the selection process below.

"Buy cheap, buy twice"

Everyone has probably heard this phrase before, but nowhere is it more apt than with tools. The price range between discount products, Chinese imports and branded goods is often enormous. Some people tend to prefer the inevitable bargain, but often regret the purchase after a short time. These “cheap tools” are often made of inferior materials or the quality of workmanship is simply poor. These tools wear out significantly faster or can even cause damage to your valuable RC models. Poor screwdrivers, for example, are often not manufactured precisely and can therefore turn the screw “round”. This happens all too often, especially with Allen screws, if cheap tools are used. These can then often only be drilled out once the screw is tight and the Allen key is damaged.
Unfortunately, this can also happen quickly with a Torx, slotted, cross etc. drive due to the use of poor tools. Unfortunately, this can also happen quickly with a Torx, slotted, cross, etc. drive due to the use of poor tools.
The same also applies to other tools. In model making, precise needle-nose pliers are particularly important for reaching hard-to-reach places in the models. Inexpensive pliers are often not optimally adjusted. This is manifested by some play in the joint or a connection that is too tight. The two gripping surfaces of the pliers are often not precisely aligned, so that they never provide a really firm grip.
The aspects described are only intended as a small example. We are sure that everyone has already had their own experiences with such cheap tools.

But what really matters?

For the layman, the difference between poor or good workmanship and poor or high-quality material selection is difficult to understand.
Our recommendation is therefore to rely on the well-known brand tools. At stores like Tooler.de you will only find tested branded goods, as we find reasonable prices. Here you run less risk of falling for inferior products that cause more trouble than pleasure in the long term. As a rule, brand manufacturers cannot afford bad reviews and therefore ensure consistently high product quality.
This is the safest way to go as a consumer. Although you pay a little more at the beginning, you save yourself a lot of hassle, frustration and follow-up costs in the long term.

This is not an advertisement for a particular brand, but we have been using FACOM tools for a very long time. I wouldn’t want to be without this quality.

For example, this screwdriver set (Phillips PZ, Phillips PH, slotted and Torx) FACOM PROTWIST #AT.J12R2PB

Precision is no coincidence, it is our goal.
